How much does excavation cost?
Machine-hire rates (operator included, ex GST): 1.7 t mini $100/hr, 5.5 t $120/hr, 8 t $135/hr, 14 t $155/hr. The combo rate — machine plus tipper — is $150/hr. Fixed-price quotes are available for defined scopes such as pool digs, site cuts and pier-hole sets.
What size excavators do you run?
A 1.7-tonne mini for tight-access and detailed work, a 5.5-tonne for most residential dig jobs, an 8-tonne for bigger footings and pool cuts, and a 14-tonne tracked excavator for bulk earthworks. Combos are available when you need the machine plus a tipper to cart spoil away in one movement.
Can you access tight or sloping blocks?
Yes. The 1.7-tonne mini fits through a standard 900mm gate and the 5.5-tonne handles most residential driveways. We work sloping blocks all the time — benched digs, steep access, and walking machines up on tracks when needed.
Do you Dial Before You Dig?
Every time. DBYD is lodged before any machine goes in the ground on every trenching or services-related job. We also work alongside your plumber, electrician or pool builder to make sure utilities and footings are in the right place the first time.
Can you break rock if we hit sandstone?
Yes — we carry rock-breaker attachments for the 8-tonne and 14-tonne machines. We'll quote rock as a variation if it's encountered, but we can keep digging without a second contractor.
Are you insured?
Fully. $20 million public liability, workers compensation, machine insurance. Copies of certificates of currency available on request.
