How much does a sandstone retaining wall cost?

Do I need council approval or an engineer?
Anything over 1m in finished height needs engineer sign-off in NSW. We work with engineers we trust and usually coordinate the certification directly. For council CC paperwork we'll point you to a consultant we've worked with — they handle the lodgement, we handle the build.
Sandstone, besser or sleeper — which should I choose?
Sandstone block is our most popular finish — hand-laid, set in mortar with a fully drained back face, and it looks better the more it weathers. Besser block and link-block suit engineered jobs and driveway walls behind a render or stone face, with full reo and core-fill. Treated pine and hardwood sleeper suits a tighter budget, built on galvanised posts in concrete footings rather than bargain-bin steel.
How long does a wall job take?
A 4–6m garden wall typically takes 2–3 days. A two-tier driveway wall takes 1–2 weeks. A full property terracing job takes 3–4 weeks. We give you a calendar at quote-time.
