Timber wall replaced with sandstone in Richmond

The old timber sleeper wall along this Richmond driveway had been leaning for years — forty-odd years of ground movement had pushed the sleepers out at the top and cracked the posts at the base. The owners wanted it gone before it failed properly.

We pulled the old timber out in a morning, dug back to a proper footing, and compacted a roadbase base wide enough to carry two courses of A-grade sandstone block. Ag-line drainage went in behind every course so water has somewhere to go instead of pushing on the wall.

Finished in a day and a half, pressure-washed and handed back with the garden beds re-formed in front of it. It's the sort of wall the neighbours ask about.
